All Lenovo T, X and R laptops have several bugs in the BIOS that are being actively fixed by Lenovo. For these laptops, BIOS updates are not optional if you find anything to not be working properly, be it the brightness control, or suspend to RAM, or volume keys. All IBM and Lenovo production/public firmware releases have part numbers that end in WW. If yours doesn't, e.g. it ends in V1, it probably means you are still using the factory-provided firmware and that the factory did not install the final release of the firmware. Update as soon as practical! You must make sure that the BIOS ID you are trying to install matches what was installed in your ThinkPad by the factory. A few models like the A31 and R61 have different BIOSes, and will malfunction if you pick the wrong one and somehow manage to force it to install. There *used to be* an IBM/Lenovo site called BIOS file matrix - ThinkPad which also has a table with links to BIOS downloads. Unfortunately, the IBM/Lenovo link AND all of the links below are currently broken on the Lenovo site. |
You can check current BIOS and Embedded Controller versions as detailed here: BIOS Version The following table lists direct links to BIOS updates for most Thinkpad Models. Refer to BIOS Upgrade for instructions on how to perform a BIOS upgrade. The FW model column is what actually identifies which sort of firmware (BIOS and Embedded Controller) should be installed in a ThinkPad. Machines with the same firmware model use the same BIOS and Embedded Controller firmware. It can also be found as the OEM table ID in the ACPI DSDT. It is formed by the characters 'TP-', plus the first two characters from the BIOS/EC update part number. Note that now (February 2015) all the following links are broken due to a site redesign at Lenovo. You can find manuals and downloads for them at the Lenovo End of Life Product Resource page. |

We knew it wasn't going to be the typical Thanksgiving this year, but I can't say that I was prepared for the one we had.
The excitement all started on Saturday morning.
The men of the family are currently working on our garage roof, and as the concerned and doting mother that I am, that morning I mentioned to Number One son that if anybody ended up stepping on or cutting themselves on a rusty nail they'd have to get a tetanus shot.
My words of wisdom were met with the same glassy stare that similar advice has been met with over the years.
Several hours later I decided to pull out some weeds and dead plants that had been lingering in the garden along the side of the house. I also raked everything up to make it look nice and tidy, then went to return the rake to the shed.
If you can believe it – and I still can't if I'm being honest! – as I went to lean the rake up against the wall, an old, rusty saw fell from the nail it had been hanging from and hit my arm (rotten-teeth-side-down of course) on its way to the ground.
Number One son happened to be standing right there, so naturally I yelled at him.
'So NOW a rusty saw has fallen on me and I'm bleeding!'
'It didn't fall,' he said calmly. 'You knocked it off.'
Of course I wasn't annoyed that this had happened – it was after all, not a significant injury and had I not just had the discussion about tetanus shots scant hours earlier, I might not have given it a second thought.
But here I was, poised on the brink of being the biggest hypocrite in the world, unwilling to face the prospect of actually having to go to the ER for a tetanus shot.
On a long weekend.

In a pandemic.
Naturally, my mind began the difficult job of circumnavigating this most ironic of situations, knowing that my last tetanus shot had long expired.
As I stood there before my firstborn, my eyes rolled back in my head as I began considering my options. https://truelfil800.weebly.com/jixipix-cartoon-1-111.html.
On the one hand, I considered the odds of actually getting tetanus from this minor injury; the burden I would have to put on the ER with this and of course, who knows how long I'd end up waiting in the ER?
On the other hand, if you are one of the unlucky ones who actually contracts tetanus, the odds of surviving it are 50/50 from what I read. Davinci resolve studio 16 beta 1 download free. And, while most of the teeth had simply grazed my skin, one had created a nice puncture wound. Plus there was that whole hypocrisy thing…
'You should go and get the shot,' said my son. 'That's a pretty rusty saw.'

Was that a smirk on his face?
Orion markup image notes and annotations 3 03. Had this happened on a normal day, or even on a typical weekend, I could have waited to go to the doctor's office, but no, this had to happen on the first day of a long weekend in the cursed year of 2020.
Then I had a brilliant thought and called the pharmacy in hopes they could do this little thing for me. Nope. Then I thought about walk-in clinics and finally found one that was open. However, when I called the number, I got a recording saying they were extra busy, wait times were long and they might not be able to answer my call, period.
The writing was clearly on the wall and I presented my masked and sanitized self at the ER where I was met by a pleasant young chap who walked me through the COVID questions. Then he asked what had brought me to the ER this fine day.
'I'm hoping I can get a tetanus shot,' I said.
Designbox 1 08 31 04
'Well,' he began, somewhat conspiratorially. Did he know about some secret walk-in clinic or dark hallway where I could get this shot and be done with it? My heart leapt at the possibility.
'A tetanus shot is just a booster,' he said.
And then I realized he thought that I had decided on a whim, to stroll into the ER for a random booster shot.
I would quickly disavow him of that thought:
'Actually, I have dropped a rusty saw on myself,' I explained. Macjournal 6 0 8.
'Oh, well that makes more sense,' he said.
We chatted briefly about those annoying ‘Karen' memes that have been making the rounds online, since I was the first Karen with a ‘K' that he had encountered since those began, which left me wondering how else people are spelling my name these days!
And then, in a wondrous Thanksgiving miracle, I received the shot right away and after a brief stay in the waiting room to make sure I wasn't going to have a reaction to it, I was on my way back home.
But that was just Saturday.

On Sunday, we gathered for a socially distanced backyard dinner at my sister's place, when the joyful sounds of children playing were interrupted with the thud, smack and then wails of my great-nephew Kamron who had flown out of a swing and landed hard on the hardened ground.
With the vast amount of blood gushing from his face it was hard to determine whether it was just his nose or nose and mouth. Eventually, we decided it was probably just his little nose and after some snuggles and a bath he was back to his cheery self.
As I write this, it's Monday and the long weekend continues, so fingers crossed!
Stay safe and stay well my friends.
